All property tax in Wyoming is based on the assessed value of the property being taxed. For county revenue, the tax rate cannot exceed 1.8% of the assessed value. Suppose that the assessed value of a hotel is $73,000 and the tax rate is 1.8%. What is the property tax?

The tax is 1.8% of the assessed value

The assessed value is 73,000

Take the value and multiply by 1.8%

73000 * 1.8%

Change the percent to decimal form

73000 * .018

1314

The tax is 1314
