First. One number is 4 more than another number:

The equation will be:

x+4=y\text{ \lparen1\rparen}

Second. Their sim is 22:

x+y=22\text{ \lparen2\rparen}

We have two equations to solve with any method. Using substitution method, we get:

Repacing (1) in (2):

x+(x+4)=22

Solving for x:

\begin{gathered} x+x+4=22 \\ 2x=22-4 \\ 2x=18 \\ x=(18)/(2)=9 \end{gathered}

Putting x=9 in (1):

\begin{gathered} y=x+4 \\ y=9+4 \\ y=13 \end{gathered}

Answer: the number are 9 and 13.
