The formula is:

r=(d)/(t)

r is the rate

d is the distance in miles

t is the time in hours

From the question:

d = 185 miles

t = 2.5 hours

r = ?

Let us substitute d and t in the formula above to find r

\begin{gathered} r=(185)/(2.5) \\ r=74\text{ miles/h} \end{gathered}

The rate is 74 miles/hour
