Adult ticket costs $ 8 and the student $4

1) Gathering the data

1st day

3a +1s = 28

2nd day:

3a +2s= 32

2) Let's set a system of Linear equations, given those two equations:

3a +1s = 28 x -1 Multiply by -1 the whole equation

3a+2s= 32

-3a -1s= -28

3a +2s= 32

------------------

s = 4 Plug into one equation s=4

3a +1(4) = 28

3a +4=28

3a = 28-4

3a= 24

a= 8

3) Hence, the adult ticket costs $ 8 and the student $4
