An object above the ground has potential energy due to its height above the ground. The formula for calaculating potential energy is expressed as

Potential energy = mgh

where

m represents mass of object

g represents acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s^2

h represents height of object

From the information given,

m = 180

h = 3

By substituting these values into the formula,

Potential energy = 180 x 9.8 x 3

Potential energy = 5292 J
