Perimeter:

P=2x+2y=64

Area:

A=x\cdot y=64

so:

x=(64)/(y)

Replace this value into the perimeter equation:

\begin{gathered} 2(64)/(y)+2y=64 \\ 128+2y^2=64y \\ 2y^2-64y+128=0 \\ y\approx29.8 \end{gathered}

so:

\begin{gathered} x=(64)/(29.8)=2.14 \\ \end{gathered}

Therefore:

Draw a figure with area of 64 cm^2 and perimeter of 64cm.-example-1
