The cells myelinates (Schwann cells) in the peripheral nervous system (PNS) forms a myelin sheath around axon, the function of the myelin is to insulating, allowing electrical pulses to transmit along the nerve cells of the PNS, these pulses are linked to the signals between the neuron cells. Therefore, the myelination of cells in the peripheral nervous system is important to promove the quickly and safe function of the neurons.
