Solution

Part 17

We can find the volume as the sum of two elements like this:

V1= 12ft*20ft*10 ft= 2400 ft^2

And similarly for the second element we got:

V2=(1)/(3)\cdot(12ft\cdot20ft)\cdot7ft=560ft^3

The total volume is:

V= V1 + V2= 2400+ 560= 2960 ft^3

Part 18

We can find the volume of the two solids and we have:

V_1=\pi(8ft)^2\cdot40ft=8042.477ft^3

And for the second solid :

V_2=(4)/(3)\pi(8ft)^3=2144.66ft^3

And the total volume would be:

V_t=\text{8}042.477+2144.66=10187.138ft^3
