Answer:

1/4

Explanation:

To be able to add/subtract fractions the denominators must be the same :

1/3 = 4/12

Subtract the numerators and keep the denominator the same :

7/12 - 4/12 = 3/12

Simplify by cancelling :

3/12 = 1/4

Our final answer is 1/4

Hope this helped and have a good day

Given:

(7)/(12)-(1)/(3)

Simplify the expression,

\begin{gathered} (7)/(12)-(1)/(3)=((7*3)-(1*12))/(12*3) \\ =(21-12)/(36) \\ =(9)/(36) \\ =(1)/(4) \end{gathered}

Answer: 1/4
