Coterminal and Reference Angles
Coterminal angles are those that are equivalent, not necessarily with the same value.
Coterminal angles are usually found by adding or subtracting 360° to the given angle.
We are given the angle -341°. It's required to find a coterminal angle in the range from 0° to 360°. We only need to add 360°:
- 341° + 360° = 19°
The reference angle is the smallest angle formed with respect to the x-axis.
The given angle of -341° forms an angle of 19° with the x-axis, so the reference angle is also 19°.
To find the quadrant, we can use the coterminal angle and evaluate if it lies on the different quadrants as follows:
Quadrant I: From 0° to 90°
Quadrant II : From 90° to 180°
