To find the rate of change, use the formula below;

\text{rate of change =}(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Pick two point and locate its coordinate

(1, 9) and (2, 18)

x₁ = 1 y₁ = 9

x₂= 2 y₂ = 18

substitute the value in the formula

\text{rate of change =}(18-9)/(2-1)

=9
