Given the equation:

y=x^2+x-4

We will find the value of (y) when ( x = 2i )

Note: i² = -1

so, when x = 2i

y=(2i)^2+(2i)-4

Simplifying the answer

So,

\begin{gathered} y=4i^2+2i-4 \\ y=4\cdot(-1)+2i-4 \\ y=-4+2i-4 \\ y=-8+2i \end{gathered}

So, the answer will be y = -8+2i
