Eva, Josh, and David gather and peel oranges for their mother. Eva gather 212 pounds of oranges, Josh collects 3.25 pounds, and David picks 438 pounds. If they place all the oranges in one basket and each peels the same amount, how many pounds would each person peel?

The total number of pounds of oranges that they collected is

212 + 3.25 + 438 = 653.25 pounds

Given that they put them in one basket and they each peeled the same amount, then the number of pounds that each would peel is

653.25/3 = 217.75

Each peeled 217.75 pounds
