Solution:

Given the following:

Purple skittles = 22%

Orange skittles = 22%

Yellow skittles = 21%

Red skittles = 18%

Green skittles = 17%

(a) P(next two are orange) = p(first is orange and second is orange)

=(22)/(100)\text{ x }(22)/(100)=\text{ 0.0484}

P(next two are orange) = 0.0484

(b)P(next two has at least one green):

P(next two has at least one green)= 1 - p( first is not green and second is not green)

percentage of not green = 22 + 22 + 21 + 18 = 83

p(not green) = 83/100 = 0.83

\begin{gathered} p(first\text{ not green and second is not green\rparen = 0.83 x 0.83 = 0.6889} \\ \end{gathered}

P(next two has at least one green)= 1 - 0.6889 = 0.3111
