Step-by-step explanation

Given that: Carmela says that 3/6 is more than 2/3 because 3 pieces are more than 2 pieces

I will disagree with Carmela because

If we use the principle of equivalent fraction

\begin{gathered} (2)/(3)\text{ is equivalent to }(2)/(3)\text{ }*\text{ }(2)/(2)\text{ =}(4)/(6) \\ \\ \end{gathered}

So instead, Carmela should have compared

(3)/(6)\text{ to }(4)/(6)

From the above

\begin{gathered} (3)/(6)\text{ is less than}(4)/(6) \\ \end{gathered}

Thus, 2/3 is actually greater than 3/6

Carmela is wrong because she took the wrong approach to determine the greater value
