So, we're going to write a slope-intercept form equation:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)_{}

For the point (4,2) and slope -2.

In this situation we have:

x1=4

y1=2

m=-2

So:

\begin{gathered} y-2=-2(x-4) \\ y-2=-2x_{}+8 \\ y=-2x+8+2 \\ y=-2x+10 \end{gathered}
