Domain

The domain is the set of all points over which a function is defined. This contains the x-values of the graph.

Hence, the domain of the ellipse is

$\lbrack-7.-1\rbrack$

Range

The set of values the function takes on as output. This consists of the y-values of the function.

Hence, the range of the ellipse is,

$\lbrack-8,-4\rbrack$

Both the values of the domain and the range are real numbers.
