In order to calculate the x-intercept of the function, we need to find the value of x for y = 0.

In the same way, to calculate the y-intercept we need to find the value of y for x = 0.

So:


\begin{gathered} x+y=5 \\ \\ x=0\to y=5 \\ y=0\to x=5 \end{gathered}

So the x-intercept is (5, 0) and the y-intercept is (0, 5).
