The volume of a spherical balloon with radius 2.6 cm is about 74 cm3. Estimate the volume of a similar balloon with radius 10.4 cm. the larger balloon has a volume of about what cm3 ?

Let V be the volume of the larger balloon

We will apply proportion to get the volume


(74)/(V)=(2.6)/(10.4)

cross-multiply


2.6V\text{ = 769.6}

Divide both-side by 2.6


V=296cm^3
