Solution

a)

The x-intercept is the point where the line crosses the x-axis

x-intercept = 8

The y-intercept is the point where the line crosses the y-axis

y-intercept = 5

Slope\text{ = }(rise)/(run)\text{ = }(-5)/(8)

b)

The x-intercept is the point where the line crosses the x-axis

x-intercept = -2

The y-intercept is the point where the line crosses the y-axis

y-inetrcept = 1

Slope\text{ = }(rise)/(run)\text{ = }(1)/(2)\text{ }
