The angles formed a linear pair has a sum of 180

So it follows that :

\begin{gathered} \angle1+\angle2=180 \\ (5x-5)+(2x+10)=180 \\ 7x+5=180 \\ 7x=180-5 \\ 7x=175 \\ x=25 \end{gathered}

Angle 1 is 5x - 5, subsitute x = 25

angle 1 will be :

5(25) - 5 = 120

angle 2 will be :

2x + 10

2(25) + 10

60

Answer :

x = 25

angle 1 = 120

angle 2 = 60
