Perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes.

Slope intercept form:

y=mx+b

Where:

m= slope

b= y-intercept

for : y=1/3x+4

Slope: 1/3 , negative reciprocal : -3

Point slope form:

(y-y1) = m (x-x1)

(y+5) = -3 (x-8)
