The circulatory system can be described as having three basic components. The most important one, the heart, is in charge of maintaining the blood in movement. The right side of the heart is the one that receives and conducts deoxygenated blood from the body to the lungs (second and third components of the system). The left side receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and sends it to the body.
