Given:


f(x)=x^2+x

To determine the function is even, odd, or neither,


\begin{gathered} f(-x)=f(x)\ldots\text{.. even function} \\ f(-x)=-f(x)\ldots\text{.. Odd function} \end{gathered}

Replace x with -x,


f(-x)=(-x)^2+(-x)=x^2-x

It shows that the given function is neither even nor odd.
