Waterways likely have the most impact on civilizations. This is due to all that rivers, lakes, and oceans can provide. Civilizations have more common along water sources throughout history. Lakes and rivers can provide water, food, minerals, transportation and more. If one is further away from water, the culture will adapt. Less fish will be consumed, less water travel will be utilized, and water in general will be used more carefully. This is a great contract to fisherman and sailors of coastal areas

Hi!

A few things that have an impact on culture are:

  • mountains
  • climate
  • plains
  • temperature
  • deserts

Mountains because if people live on mountains, it can be hard to farm, so they will have to adapt and figure out food sources.

Climate because, again, humans have to adapt to the climate. For example, if it's a dry, humid climate, they might make dirt houses to stay cool or wear certain clothes to stay cool.

Plains because, like mountains, they are different elevations. In plains, it may be dry and there may not be trees, therefore they will have to use the resources available to survive.

Temperature - for example, if it's super cold, people will most likely constantly be wearing jackets, boots, gloves, etc. There may also be a lack of food sources and they will have to adapt.

Deserts because, if people live in the desert, there will be a very limited amount of water. They may have to walk far to find some, and will have to adapt in other ways.

Hope this helps! :D
