Let the number of hours she run be x and the total amount of practice be y

ATQ,

  • Total amount of practice = 4× number of hours + amount of practice she has already done

On substituting values,

y = 4x + 17

This equation is written in slope intercept form, So the constant is the y-intercept and the coefficient of x is the slope...

  • Slope = 4
  • Y-intercept = 17

Answer:

y = 4x + 17

Explanation:

Mikaela already completed a constant amount of 17.

She completes 4 runs per hour. Let "hour" be signified by the variable, x. Let "total amount of practice" be signified by the variable, y. Set the equation:

Total amount of practice = 4 runs per hour x hours + already completed runs.

y = 4x + 17

y = 4x + 17 is your equation.
