Solve the equation for y by isolating that term in one side of the equation, this way:


\begin{gathered} x=(y+8)^{(1)/(3)}+7 \\ x-7=(y+8)^{(1)/(3)} \\ (x-7)^3=y+8 \\ (x-7)^3-8=y \\ y=(x-7)^3-8 \end{gathered}
