(x 2 , y2) = ( -1 , 2)

Gradient , m= (y2 -y1 ) / ( x2 - x 1)

= (2 - -7 ) /( -1 -5 )

=( 2 + 7 )/ ( -6)

= 9/-6

= -3/2

The new equation should be y - y1 = m ( x -x1 )

y - -7 = -3/2 ( x - 5)

y + 7 = -3/2 ( x - 5 )

Multiply through by 2, we have :

2 y + 14 = -3 x + 15

3 x + 2 y = 15- 14

3 x + 2 y = 1
