Given;

One dose equals 2/3 tablespoon

let x represent 1 tablespoon of medicine

And y represent one dose of medicine.

We can represent the problem with the equation below;

\begin{gathered} 1\text{ dose }\rightarrow\text{ }(2)/(3)\text{ tablespoon} \\ y=(2)/(3)x \end{gathered}

For one-half dose of the medicine, divide both sides by 2;

\begin{gathered} (y)/(2)=(2)/(3)x*(1)/(2) \\ (y)/(2)=(1)/(3)x \end{gathered}

Therefore, one half dose will be 1/3 tablespoon.

(1)/(2)\text{ dose =}(1)/(3)\text{ tablespoon}

Above are the pictorial representation of the problem.
