SOLUTION

The area of a circle is given as

\begin{gathered} Area=\pi r^2 \\ since\text{ the diameter is 27, the radius r = }(dameter)/(2)=(27)/(2) \end{gathered}

Applying we have

\begin{gathered} Area=3.1416*((27)/(2))^2 \\ =3.1416*13.5^2 \\ =3.1416*182.25 \\ =572.5566 \\ =572.56\text{ in}^2 \end{gathered}

Hence the answer is 572.56 square-inches to the nearest hundredth
