In order to solve this system of equations, we can first add both equations together:


\begin{gathered} x-y+x+y=25+15 \\ 2x=40 \\ x=20 \end{gathered}

Now that we have the value of x, we can use any of the two equations to find the value of y:


\begin{gathered} x+y=15 \\ 20+y=15 \\ y=15-20 \\ y=-5 \end{gathered}

So the solution is the ordered pair (20, -5).
