The statement of Oscar that the more sunscreen a person used, the fewer freckles he would have, is a negative correlation.

Now, given the scatter plot, we can see that the points don't have neither positive or negative correlation. Therefore, the research DID NOT support his prediction of a negative correlation, since the results show no correlation.
