Given:

3x+y=4\ldots\ldots\ldots\ldots\text{ take it as equation (1).}
6x+2y=8\ldots\ldots\ldots\ldots\text{ take it as equation (2).}

Multiply both sides of the equation (1) by 2, we get

(2)3x+(2)y=(2)4

6x+2y=8\ldots\ldots\ldots\ldots\text{ take it as equation (3).}

Subtract equation (2) from equation (3), we get

(6x+2y)-(6x+2y)=8-8
0=0

We obtain equation (2) by multiplying 2 and equation (1).

Equation 2 is dependent on equation (1).

We know that a dependent system has an infinite number of solutions.

The solution of the system has many solutions.
