We are given the rectangle

and we want to calculate its area. Recall tha the area of a rectangle of base b and height h is given by the expression

b\cdot h

ino ur case b=5/6 and h=5/8. So we have

A=(5)/(6)\cdot(5)/(8)=(25)/(48)

so, the area of the rectangle would be 25/48 square feet.

A rectangle is 5/6 of a foot long and 5/8 of a foot wide. What is the fractional area-example-1
