In the statement, the writer is trying to conclude that since a Kiwi can't fly, its weight must be greater than 50 pounds. There are many other reasons why a Kiwi might not be able to fly (small wings, for instance).

The conditional statement is not written as a is trying biconditional, so the conclusion does not imply the hypothesis.
