Hello There today we solve your problem

Since you mean't the equation

y-4=x\\y+2x=-2

we will use that one instead

First off we can substitute
y for
x+4

Now we have an equation

x+4+2x=-2 then simplify

3x+4=-2

do simple algebra and we get that

x=-2

Since we said that
y=x+4 we can plug in our value of
x

y=-2+4\\y=2

\boxed{x=-2}

\boxed{y=2}
