Given:

the lengths of several engineering conferences were announced

Four conferences lasted 8 days,

three lasted 5 days,

ten lasted 9 days,

twelve lasted 7 days,

and three lasted 6 days.

We will find the mean length of the engineering conference

The total number of days =

8*4+5*3+9*10+7*12+6*3=239

The number of data =

4+3+10+12+3=32

so, the mean length = 239/32 = 7.46875

Rounding to the nearest tenth

So, Mean = 7.5 days

B) We will find the median of the data:

We will arrange the data in order from the least to the greatest

three lasted 5 days

three lasted 6 days

twelve lasted 7 days

four lasted 8 days

ten lasted 9 days

As the number of days = 32

so, We will divide the data into 2 equal sections

Each section has 16 data

The data number 16 = 7

The data number 17 = 7

so, Median = 7 days
