If 10 pound = 8$ , multiply 8 times 4 and your answer is 32.

Yo answer this question we have to apply proportions:

10 pounds = $8

Weight/price = 10/8

For 40 pounds of flour:

40/x

Where x is the cost of 40 pounds of flour.

Equal both expressions:

10/8=40/x

Solve for x:

x= 40(10/8)=40/1.25 = 32
