Two complementary angles add to 90°, if one angle is 7 times the measure of its complement, let's call x the measure of the complement, then:

The equation to solve the problem is:


7x+x=90

Solve for x and find the measure of the angles:


\begin{gathered} 8x=90 \\ x=(90)/(8) \\ x=11.25 \end{gathered}

The complementary angles measure 11.25° and 7x11.25°=78.75°

Then 11.25°+78.75°=90°
