We have the expression

i=p\cdot m

To solve it for m, we divide both sides by p:

\begin{gathered} i=p\cdot m \\ (i)/(p)=(p)/(p)\cdot m \\ m=(i)/(p) \end{gathered}

The resulting equation is m = i/p.
