(3x+7)+(8x+2)

First you remove the parenthesis:


=3x+7+8x+2

Add or substract similar terms (you can just add or substract terms with the same variable, in this case you can just add the terms with x between them and the terms without x between them)

You can ordered the equation to get the similar terms next to each other:


=3x+8x+7+2

And then add or substract:


=11x+9Then, the addition of the given linear expressions is equal to 11x+9
