What is the distance between (-5,2) and (4,-9). Use the distance formula, d= sqrt (x^2-x^1)^2 + (y^2-y^1)^2

substitute in the formula

d=\sqrt[]{(4+5)^2+(-9-2)^2}
\begin{gathered} d=\sqrt[]{(9)^2+(-11)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{202} \end{gathered}

d=14.21 units
