Negative numbers division
We know that
18 ÷ 9 = 2
and that when we divide two negative numbers its result is positive, then:
- 18 ÷ -9 = +2
We want to find another division with the same result: +2
Since
A. 18 ÷ 2 =9
B. 12 ÷ 3 = 4
C. 10 ÷ 5 = 2
D. 8 ÷ 4 = 2
the two candidates are C and D
in the case of -10÷5, we know that the division of a negative by a positive number has a negative result, then
-10 ÷ 5 = -2
Then this option has not the same value as - 18 ÷ -9 = +2
Since the division of two negative numbers has a positive result, then
-8 ÷ -4 = +2
Answer: D -8÷(-4) = - 18-÷-9
