If two chords intersect inside a circle, then the measure of the angle formed is one half the sum of the measure of the arcs intercepted by the angle.

It follows from the given diagram that:


m<1=(1)/(2)(40^(\circ)+170^(\circ))

Simplify the equation to get:


\begin{gathered} m<1=(1)/(2)(210^(\circ)) \\ =105^(\circ) \end{gathered}
