x^2-2x\text{ + 1 = (x-1)(x-1)}

Here, we want to write the given quadratic trinomial as a product of two linear binomials

We can do this by rewriting the middle term as follows;

x^2-2x+1=x^2-x-x+1\text{ = x(x-1)-1(x-1) = (x-1)(x-1)}
