When a system of linear equations has asolution.... what am I actually finding when Isolve for x and y?

When we have a system of linear equations which has a solution, we remember that when we graph the lines corresponding to the linear equations, those intersect at a point.

When we solve for x and for y, we find a point that is a solution of both lines, or the intersection point of the lines (when they are on a cartesian plane).
