The equation is

6x-12=12

To clear the value of x you have to pass all terms of the equation that don't have it to the other side of the equal sign. To do so you have to perform the opposite operation as the one the term is doing.

In this equation, you have to pass "-12" to the other side, then you have to add it to both sides of the equation.

6x-12+12=12+12

-12+12 simplify each other so

6x=24

Finally divide by 6 to reach the value of x

\begin{gathered} (6x)/(6)=(24)/(6) \\ x=4 \end{gathered}
