Cayley says that the equation p=1.5q and 2/3p=q both represent the same proportional relationship.Mariah says that can’t be true because the constants of proportionality are different. With which student do you agree? Explain

The expression p = 1.5q is equivalent to 2/3p = q. Let's prove it.

\begin{gathered} (2)/(3)p=q \\ p=(3)/(2)q \\ p=1.5q \end{gathered}

Therefore, Cayley is correct because both expressions have the correct constant of proportionality.
