Problem

We have the following function given

p(t)= -12 t ^2 +480 t +30

Solution

In order to maximize this function we need to take the derivate and we got:

p'(t)= -24t +480

Now we need to set up the derivate equal to 0 and we got:

-24t +480=0

And solving for t we have:

t= 480/24 = 20

Then the function have a maximum at t= 20 with a value of:

p(20) = -12 (20^2) +(480*20) +30= 4830

Answer = 20
