A discrete function is one that can only take certain values, for example, 1,2,3,4... But it does not take continuous values.

In this case, in option B, you can pick any value for the number of months "x" (even decimal moth values) and you will get continuous values for the height of the plant. So B is not a discrete function.

In option C, you can also choose any value for the number of pounds (even decimal values) and you will get as a return continuous values for the cost.

In option A, you can only choose certain values of x. These values have to be whole numbers because you cannot sell decimal values of a T-shirt. you can only sell whole numbers of T-shirts. Thus, as a return, the function can only give certain values (not continuous values) and the function will be discrete.

Answer: Option A.
